One of the most important lessons in a duckling's life: learning to swim. This also applies to orphans, of course, because if they are big and strong, they should go on tour themselves.
The time for the first small swimming session in not too deep water and under supervision is when the feathering is fully developed, i.e. at the age of 9-12 weeks.
